Job Title: Nephrology Care Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Nephrology Care Specialist to join our team. As a key member of the healthcare team, you will be responsible for delivering patient-centered care in the haemodialysis setting.

This role requires strong adherence to organisational core values, standards of practice, and codes and guidelines set by regulatory bodies. You will also support the management team through participation in clinical, management, education, and quality activities for staff and patients within the clinic.

  • Protecting patient rights is paramount. Upholding Privacy Principles and providing exceptional care is essential.
  • Maintaining professional development and educating colleagues, patients, and visitors is vital.
  • Ensuring a safe, secure, and healthy working environment for staff and a comfortable, safe space for visitors and patients is necessary.
  • Actively participating in quality improvement processes by reporting incidents, hazards, and opportunities for improvement is crucial.

The ideal candidate will have a current practising certificate with registration as a general nurse. They must demonstrate clinical competence and expertise in nephrology nursing or be working towards it.

A comprehensive understanding of quality improvement processes and risk management obligations is required. The ability to continuously reflect on nursing practice and apply learning as appropriate is necessary.

This role requires effective communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team. Demonstrated organisational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills, combined with self-directed abilities, are essential.

You will also need to possess knowledge of nursing, nephrology, and other professional issues impacting nursing practice within the specialty.
