Renal Medicine Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Renal Medicine Specialist to join our team at Westmead Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical care to patients with complex chronic kidney disease, dialysis, and transplant needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate sound clinical knowledge in nephrology, dialysis, and renal transplantation through successful clinical practice.
  • Familiarity with research concepts and a commitment to support basic, applied, or clinical research within the department.

Essential Requirements:

  • Possess or be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP).
  • Sound clinical knowledge in Renal Medicine, Kidney, Kidney Pancreas, and Islet Transplantation demonstrated through clinical practice.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Extensive clinical experience in managing complex chronic kidney disease, dialysis, and transplant patients.
  • Commitment to teaching and mentoring junior medical staff.
  • Commitment to clinical and/or basic science research in nephrology and transplantation.

Selection Criteria:

  • Demonstrated senior medical practitioner attributes: high-level interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work within a multidisciplinary team; experience in quality assurance activities and evidence-based practice; commitment to teaching and supervision.

The position is a fixed-term appointment for 12 months commencing in the 2026 Clinical Year.
