Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team at Compass Group Canada. As a key member of our kitchen operations, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking food products to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Food Preparation: Prepare, pre-cook, and cook food products as directed, ensuring quality and consistency.
  • Mise en Place: Prepare ingredients and products for high-volume production, maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Cleanliness and Sanitation: Clean kitchen equipment and maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Inventory Management: Label, date, store, and rotate food and beverage products in designated storage areas.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate with operational departments to ensure seamless kitchen operations.
  • Reporting and Maintenance: Report needed maintenance, faulty equipment, or accidents to the supervisor immediately.
Requirements:
  • Culinary Experience: Proven cooking experience, including experience as a restaurant cook or prep cook.
  • Certifications: Food Safety Certification required.
  • Education: Certificate from a recognized cooking school.
  • Skills: Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures; accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks; familiarity with industry best practices; ability to work independently and as part of a team; excellent written and verbal communication skills; physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
