About the Role

As a Catering Assistant at Calvary Health Care Kogarah, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care through the provision of nutritious and safe meals. You will work collaboratively with a team to ensure that patients receive excellent service and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and serve patient meals, ensuring that they meet dietary requirements and are presented in a visually appealing manner.
  • Manage food inventory, including ordering, stocking, and rotating stock to ensure freshness and minimize waste.
  • Maintain a clean and safe food preparation environment, adhering to HACCP and food safety guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to develop and implement new menu ideas and improve existing ones.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and staff, responding to their needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
Requirements
  • Current Food Handlers Certificate
  • Demonstrated ability to read, understand, and follow HACCP and food safety principles, policies, and procedures.
  • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, and ability to adhere to strict schedules and deadlines.
  • Ability to work well as a team member and independently, with a strong focus on patient care and satisfaction.
  • Basic computer literacy and ability to learn new software.
  • Ability to cover a rotating roster across 7 days.
