Food Service Assistant Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Food Service Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our food service department, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality food and ensuring a positive dining experience.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Prepare ingredients by chopping, slicing, marinating, and ensuring proper portioning for recipes
  • Cook food according to restaurant or kitchen standards, following recipes to ensure consistency and taste
  • Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, cooking equipment, and utensils
  • Familiarize yourself with the menu, ingredients, and cooking methods to effectively prepare and present dishes
  • Monitor the quality of ingredients and finished dishes to maintain consistency and high standards
  • Prepare dishes in a timely manner, ensuring all meals are ready according to the service schedule
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to manage kitchen operations, communicate orders, and ensure efficient meal preparation

Requirements:

  • A minimum of three years of experience in food service or a related field
  • Demonstratable experience following instructions and safely operating kitchen equipment
  • An understanding of hygiene and food safety rules
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, lift heavy items, and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
