**Job Overview**

We are seeking a visionary leader to manage the sustainable development and conservation of South Australian fisheries through consultative engagement with stakeholders.

The primary objective is to maintain sustainable fish stocks, balancing competing interests and views while ensuring the delivery of science to support management decisions.

This role works closely with the Aquatic Sciences group to ensure the successful implementation of fisheries management strategies.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Develop and implement fisheries management plans that balance economic, social, and environmental considerations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including commercial and recreational fishers, environmental groups, and government departments to achieve shared goals.
  • Work closely with the Aquatic Sciences group to ensure the delivery of science to support management decisions.

**Requirements:**

  • Possession of a current driver's licence and willingness to drive.
  • Australian residency or current works permit is required.
  • The incumbent will be required to undertake emergency management training and must be willing to participate in emergency preparedness, response, and recovery activities.
