Job Opportunity

The department is seeking a Fisheries Management Specialist to join the team responsible for sustainable development and management of the fisheries and aquaculture industries.

The role involves working closely with stakeholders, including commercial and recreational fishers and environmental groups, to deliver outcomes focused on sustainable management.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading a collaborative approach with industry partners and government departments to deliver services related to fisheries and aquaculture.
  • Developing and coordinating integrated delivery mechanisms within the team and across stakeholders nationally and within the state.
  • Administering relevant legislation, including the Aquaculture Act 2001 and the Fisheries Management Act 2007.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and project management skills, as well as experience in fisheries management and policy development.

They will also have a strong understanding of policies and regulations related to fisheries management.
