Senior Consultant, Data Governance Specialist

Job Overview
The Queensland University of Technology is seeking a highly skilled Senior Consultant, Data Governance to join its Digital Business Solutions team. This role will play a crucial part in enabling the successful delivery of the QUT data governance program.
About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and experienced professional to work with stakeholders across the university and external partners to design, develop, implement, manage, and educate on various data governance policies, procedures, and processes. The successful candidate will ensure that governance roles are clearly defined, and responsibilities are fulfilled.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design and development of the QUT data governance program
- Work with stakeholders to implement and manage data governance policies, procedures, and processes
- Educate staff on data governance best practices
- Collaborate with the Compliance Team, Data & Analytics Team, Enterprise Architecture, Business Process Improvement, and relevant third parties to improve data quality within core systems and business processes
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Postgraduate qualifications or progress towards postgraduate qualifications in a related field, coupled with extensive relevant experience
- High-level interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with the ability to quickly establish rapport and engage with diverse client groups
- Demonstrated knowledge of data governance and process improvement techniques and toolsets, enterprise and data architecture
- Excellent writing skills, with the ability to create clear requirements, specifications, and documentation
- Demonstrated high-level problem-solving and solution-implementing skills, including the ability to operate logically and methodically with rigorous attention to detail
