Risk Management Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Risk Management Specialist to join our team.

Job Description:

The Risk Management Specialist will be responsible for implementing and managing risk and compliance obligations in the 1st line of defence, including the embedding of a Risk & Compliance Management Framework. This role will implement outcome-focused risk and control solutions that optimize risk/reward balance and drive a strong culture of risk management and compliance behaviour. The position will monitor, assess, and report on key risks compliance, control, performance, and governance indicators, providing recommendations to stakeholders on strategies required to improve compliance procedures and ensure business-related activities comply with relevant Acts, legal, and policy requirements and ethical standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and manage risk and compliance obligations in the 1st line of defence
  • Embed a Risk & Compliance Management Framework
  • Implement outcome-focused risk and control solutions
  • Monitor, assess, and report on key risks compliance, control, performance, and governance indicators
  • Provide recommendations to stakeholders on strategies required to improve compliance procedures

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in an audit firm
  • 5 years' experience as a Compliance Auditor, Compliance Manager, or similar position
  • Healthcare industry experience is desirable
  • Fraud and corruption risk management experience is desirable
  • Tertiary qualifications in Compliance/Risk Management

What You Will Lead And Grow:

This Risk Management Specialist role will support the implementation and ongoing management and reporting of risk and compliance obligations in the 1st line of defence, including the embedding of a Risk & Compliance Management Framework. The position will implement outcome-focused risk and control solutions that optimize risk/reward balance and help to drive and embed a strong culture of risk management and compliance behaviour as well as an awareness in day-to-day business decisions and business strategic initiatives.

You Will Have The Following To Be Successful:

  • A strong understanding of risk management principles and practices
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, including patience and influencing skills
  • Ability to work with people from different disciplines and at all levels of decision-making
  • Strong personal ethics and integrity, with meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong Excel knowledge and PowerPoint for business presentations and reporting ability
