About the Role

The primary focus of this role is to manage global macro risks within our balance sheet.

This involves:

  • Overseeing foreign currency market risk arising from offshore funding, capital and translation;
  • Executing hedges, analysing hedging and trading performance, forecasting future cashflow requirements and enhancing trade execution efficiency;
  • Supporting the pricing of issuance and execution of hedging instruments on behalf of Westpac and its affiliates;
  • Prudently managing risk positions and liquidity risks within all relevant limits;
  • Derivative hedging and forecasting management of associated derivative costs;
  • Driving a strong risk culture with a reliable focus on initiatives to strengthen the control environment.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A bachelor or postgraduate degree in a relevant field and 5 years or more work experience in banking/financial markets;
  • Strong data analysis background and knowledge of funding, liquidity, and balance sheet management;
  • Good understanding of financial market transactions, excellent Excel skills and ability to work in an achievement-oriented team environment.
