As a Defensive Space Engineering Lead, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of space defense.

The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $160,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

This role involves comprehensive analysis, thought leadership, and proactive action on mission protection activities. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the success of government missions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Mission Protection Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive plans to protect national security interests in space.
  • Satellite Operations Management: Oversee the operations of satellite systems, including ground station management and communication networks.
  • Threat Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct thorough threat assessments and develop mitigation strategies to protect against emerging threats.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work effectively with cross-functional teams, including project managers, engineers, and technicians.
  • Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph: Maintain a high-level security clearance and undergo regular polygraph examinations.
  • STEM Education and Experience: Hold a Bachelor's degree in STEM or a relevant field, with at least 9 years of relevant experience.
  • Satellite Knowledge: Possess in-depth knowledge of satellite operations, spacecraft components, and related mission protection topics.
  • Orbital Mechanics: Understand orbital mechanics and be able to analyze and articulate the pros and cons of orbital changes.
  • Collaboration and Communication Skills: Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, with impeccable interpersonal skills and personal judgment.
