Workforce Coordinator

Job Description:

The Workforce Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring our Train Services run smoothly and on schedule. This position requires the ability to coordinate and administer rosters for train crew members, ensuring effective and cost-efficient allocation of personnel across all depots.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement master rosters for train crew, balancing work allocations while adhering to awards and business rules.
  • Maintain currency of roster data, ensuring compliance with rostering principles and rail safety regulations.
  • Ensure adequate roster coverage for planned and unplanned disruptions, guaranteeing driver availability for services.
  • Allocate operational rosters according to FAID requirements and ensure training, leave, and special events are catered for.
  • Manage IT systems related to rostering, including data entry of train crew times.
  • Coordinate accommodation for drivers and arrange doctors' appointments as needed.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need experience in large-scale rostering environments, ideally within the transport or rail industries. Strong communication skills, customer service orientation, and the ability to build rapport quickly are essential.

Desirable Skills:

  • Previous rostering experience in an operational environment.
  • Experience managing disruptions and supporting daily operational duties.
  • Ability to apply complex information accurately under pressure.
  • Proficiency in MS applications and ability to produce high-quality business reports.
  • Capacity to work on a rotating 24/7 shift basis, including weekends and public holidays.
