Funeral Service Coordinator

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Funeral Assistant to join our team at Peter Elberg Funerals, a well-established South Australian family-owned business.
About the RoleThis Casual/Part-Time position involves supporting operational functions, including cemetery setups, vehicle cleaning, and equipment maintenance. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to cleanliness, organisation, and maintaining the respectful appearance of all work areas.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist with the setup and breakdown of cemetery services, ensuring dignified and orderly arrangements meet family expectations.
- Prepare gravesite areas with necessary equipment, furnishings, and floral arrangements.
- Conduct site inspections before services to ensure all requirements are met.
- Perform regular cleaning and maintenance of funeral vehicles, including hearses and transfer vehicles, to maintain pristine condition.
- Conduct routine safety checks and ensure vehicles are prepared for service use.
- Transfer deceased individuals from various locations (e.g., homes, hospitals, and aged care facilities) to the funeral home with respect and professionalism.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, carrying, and setting up equipment.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong attention to cleanliness, organisation, and maintaining the respectful appearance of all work areas.
- Works well in a team-oriented environment, understanding the importance of sensitivity and compassion in all duties related to funeral service.
- A current driver's license to operate company vehicles.
Peter Elberg Funerals offers a professional and welcoming environment for employees, with opportunities for internal training and development. This Casual/Part-Time position may lead to a Full-Time opportunity for the right candidate.
The estimated salary for this position is around $60,000 - $70,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
