About Our Graduate Program

The Australian Government's Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Stream presents a distinctive opportunity to launch your career in multiple STEM fields.

We encourage collaborative and enthusiastic individuals who are keen to work as part of a team to apply for this position.

The graduate program consists of:

  • Two/three work rotations to gain diverse roles and responsibilities
  • A 12-month training and development program with targeted learning opportunities
  • Development activities, formal training, on-the-job learning and networking
  • APS and agency networking events
  • Career coaching and competitive salary

As a STEM graduate, you'll be invited to exclusive STEM-focused events and networking opportunities throughout the year.

How You'll Be Matched

Suitable candidates will be matched with a participating department or agency based on their skills and qualifications.

Our partnership with over 60 agencies has seen successful placement of graduates from the Australian Government Graduate Program.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible, you must:

  • Be an Australian citizen
  • Have completed a Bachelor degree or higher by December 31st, 2026
  • Have completed your qualification between January 1st, 2022 to December 31st, 2026
  • Be able to obtain and maintain a valid security clearance once accepted into the program

The selection process typically includes online application, testing, video interview, assessment centre, and matching and offers.
