Job Overview

A supportive team environment awaits at our leisure centre, providing on-the-job training for a rewarding career in swimming instruction.

  • Participate in comprehensive training and hands-on experience to become a certified swim instructor.
  • Assist in delivering engaging swim lessons adhering to Council and industry standards.
  • Ensure the safe and efficient setup and packing of equipment.
  • Contribute to participant development by learning names and progress.
  • Attend in-service training sessions and team meetings.
  • Commit to assigned shifts as operationally required.
  • Maintain compliance with all Council safety and operational procedures.
Essential Qualifications
  • Capacity to attend a two-day training course.
  • Commitment to complete training within 8 weeks.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Experience working or learning in a team setting.
  • Basic understanding of customer service and safety practices.
  • Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
  • Commitment to completing swim instructor training.
  • No prior qualifications required – training provided upon appointment.
Desirable Certifications
  • CPR and First Aid Certification.
  • Any experience working in aquatic or teaching environments.
