Job Role Summary

The role of Maintenance Specialist encompasses ensuring the upkeep, maintenance, and smooth operation of buildings and campuses. A strong attention to detail is essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cleaning and polishing furniture and fixtures
  • Performing minor repairs to doors, fixtures, and furniture
  • Adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilating, plumbing, and electrical systems
  • Cleaning and restoring building interiors damaged by fire, smoke, or water using commercial cleaning equipment
  • Monitoring building security and safety by locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use
  • Moving heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies
  • Mowing and trimming lawns and shrubbery; clearing debris
  • Notifying managers about the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems
  • Removing snow from sidewalks, driveways, and parking areas; applying snow-melting chemicals
  • Requisitioning supplies and equipment for cleaning and maintenance duties
  • Setting up, arranging, and removing decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, and scaffolding to prepare facilities for special events
  • Spraying insecticides and fumigants to prevent insect and rodent infestation
  • Monitoring contract cleaning crew's work
  • Cleaning building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming; gathering and emptying trash; servicing, cleaning, and supplying restrooms

This position requires a valid Non-CDL Class C driver's license.
