Mathematical Modeller and Analyst

Join us in a dynamic role where you will develop agent-based models to optimise vaccine allocation and integrate diverse respiratory virus surveillance data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and adapt mathematical models of population-level infection transmission.
  • Analyse and synthesise respiratory virus surveillance signals, including genomic data from wastewater surveillance.
  • Contribute to research outputs through drafting peer-reviewed publications and reports for funders.
  • Mentor and collaborate with graduate research students and multi-disciplinary teams.

Requirements:

  • PhD in applied mathematics, mathematical biology, statistics, biostatistics, computer science, or an equivalent professional qualification.
  • Experience in computational modelling of biological systems and statistical methods.
  • Proficiency in Python, R, or C++, and ability to learn R quickly.
  • Excellent collaborative skills and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Publishing experience in scientific articles.
