Inventory Allocation Specialist Role

The Inventory Allocation Specialist plays a pivotal part in crafting and implementing inventory allocation strategies to ensure optimal stock levels across the distribution network.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and propose quantities for distribution centers, aligning with category and financial objectives, to drive sales, minimize markdowns, and meet inventory targets.
  • Monitor the allocation process by creating allocation strategies and offering recommendations.
  • Allocate stock in line with location strategy, item planning, SPO usage, in-season performance, and category targets via data analysis and quantity checks.
  • Set up, execute, and approve system allocations to ensure timely stock delivery.
  • Provide accurate, regular, and ad-hoc reporting and analysis to inform decision-making across aligned categories.
  • Offer in-season recommendations to buyers on key insights, quantities, and locations.
  • Assist planners with problem-solving and manage merchandise returns process and supplier delivery performance.
  • Own Purchase Order tracking report and follow up on outstanding orders.
  • Requirements include a degree/diploma in Business Administration, Commerce, Marketing, Retail Management, Economics, or related field.
  • Essential skills include retail, financial, and business acumen, strong analytical skills, intermediate technology/computer skills, and experience in planning systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage small-sized teams.

This role is ideal for graduates in Business, Commerce, or related fields, with a strong aptitude for mathematics and numbers.
