
Vaccination Healthcare Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Immunisation Nurse to join our team of healthcare professionals. As an Immunisation Team Leader, you will play a crucial role in providing a safe and effective immunisation service to residents, school students, and employees within the Merri-bek City Council municipality.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the running of immunisation sessions as rostered, with the opportunity to work as Nurse-in-Charge on required sessions. You will also administer vaccines, maintain cold chain of vaccines and vaccine stock levels, and deliver the National Immunisation Program through preparation, documentation at sessions, tallying and balancing of vaccines given, and if required assisting with data processing within the current immunisation database.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, coordinate and lead immunisation sessions as rostered
- Administer vaccines and medications as prescribed by healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate records of vaccine administration and patient interactions
- Develop and implement immunisation catch-up plans as required
- Provide customer service support to patients and families accessing the Immunisation service
- Specialist knowledge to assess client's immunisation status and history and to administer appropriate vaccines
- Ability to apply CPR and anaphylaxis/immunisation emergency training within the community
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with children, adolescents, families, and adults
- Knowledge and skills to maintain cold chain of vaccines and vaccine stock levels
