Job Description

The Chef de Partie is responsible for running a kitchen section and supporting the Executive Chef with daily food preparation, management, and maintaining culinary excellence.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare, cook, and plate high-quality dishes according to menu guidelines.
  • Oversee the mise-en-place, freshness, and readiness of assigned kitchen section.
  • Consistently uphold standards for presentation, portioning, and quality of each dish.
  • Supervise, mentor, and train junior kitchen staff.
  • Coordinate with colleagues and other sections to ensure smooth service.
  • Manage inventory, ordering, and stock rotation in assigned section.
  • Practice and enforce outstanding hygiene, food safety (HACCP), and OH&S protocols.
  • Foster a positive, professional, and harmonious team environment.
  • Remain calm under pressure, especially during peak service periods.
  • Support with menu development, innovation, and implementing changes when required.
Requirements
  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 2–3 years experience as Chef de Partie or senior cook, ideally within a hotel, banquet, or restaurant setting.
  • Flexibility to work across a rotating roster including mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Hold appropriate work rights or work visa in Australia.
