North Queensland Fresh produce packing facility seeks an experienced and skilled Maintenance Technician. This hands-on role involves the maintenance, repair, and improvement of machinery and equipment used in fresh produce packing. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, with skills in welding, fabrication, and mechanical systems.

About the Role:

  • Service and repair machinery and equipment in a fast-paced food processing environment.

  • Monitor water treatment and chemical dosing systems to ensure efficient operation.

  • Perform scheduled and emergency maintenance tasks to minimize downtime.

  • Operate forklifts and assist in operator training to promote safe and efficient material handling practices.

  • Carry out general site maintenance such as mowing, fencing, and pest control to maintain a clean and safe working environment.

  • Maintain accurate records and follow WHS and hygiene procedures to ensure compliance.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a relevant trade, preferably in a food processing or manufacturing environment.

  • A relevant trade qualification, such as a Certificate III in Mechanical Engineering.

  • Skill in welding, fabrication, and mechanical systems.

  • The ability to read technical drawings and manuals.

  • A Forklift licence or willingness to obtain.

  • A QLD driver's licence or willingness to obtain.

  • Chemical Accreditation or willingness to obtain.
