As a key team member in the Grains sector, this role plays a crucial part in connecting with trucking sub-contractors and negotiating competitive freight rates for bulk grain transportation from farms or third-party sources to terminals.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Freight rate quotation and negotiation for accumulation and trade teams
  • Internal site and external road freight movement planning and execution
  • Contractor and Chain of Responsibility (COR) Management
  • Freight database management and data entry
  • Maintaining organized records for contracts, transactions, inventory, and operational data
  • Pricing system updates to ensure accuracy and cost control
  • Investigating discrepancies to resolve issues related to pricing and billing
  • Inventory level tracking and forecasting demand to maintain optimal stock levels
  • Stock replenishment coordination with suppliers and bulk operations to minimize shortages
  • Customer service as a point of contact for grain orders, inquiries, and issues

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Previous experience in road freight coordination, preferably in the agricultural or grains industry
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills
  • Time management and prioritization abilities
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and data management software
  • Problem-solving skills and adaptability
