Job Description:

In this role, you will be responsible for collecting and processing biological specimens from patients. This involves ensuring accurate patient identification, labeling, and collection techniques are followed according to documented policies and procedures.

You will work closely with the Phlebotomy Coordinator to maintain a clean and organized workspace, restock pathology consumables as needed, and assist with operational duties.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of standard precautions when dealing with patients and biological specimens
  • Follow instructions and work accurately with minimal supervision
  • Develop strong interpersonal skills and communicate effectively in a team environment
  • Show commitment to quality management and continuous improvement
  • Participate in a working environment that supports human resource management practices

Requirements:

  • A relevant qualification, such as Certificate III in Phlebotomy, is highly regarded
  • Ability to work a combination of shifts within a 7-day roster period, including weekends and public holidays
  • Flexibility to participate in on-call or weekend roster arrangements
