
Medical Sample Collection Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented professional to join our team as a Pathology Specimen Collector. The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting blood and other samples from patients in clinics, COVID Drive Thru's, and home visits.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with internal and external customers. They must also have a strong commitment to quality and safety, with attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of their work.
In addition to collection and dispatching of specimens, the role will involve stock maintenance, greeting patients/customers, and assisting with appointments and request details. A current Australian Driver's Licence and own transport/vehicle are essential for this position.
Key Responsibilities:- Collection of blood and other samples from patients in clinics, COVID Drive Thru's, and home visits;
- Packaging and dispatching of specimens;
- Stock maintenance;
- Greeting patients/customers and assist with appointments and request details;
- Receive payments and receipting of patient accounts;
- Provide advice on special requirements, preparation and instructions for tests;
- Compliance and adherence with policies and procedures, and Workplace Health and Safety procedures.
- An outstanding patient/customer focus, including the ability to liaise with internal & external customers;
- A willingness to adhere to departmental and organisational policies and procedures;
- Must be a cohesive and contributing member of the team and display positive attitudes towards achieving outcomes;
- Strong time management, interpersonal, communication and organisational skills;
- Attention to detail and accuracy;
- A current Australian Driver's Licence and your own transport/vehicle is essential;
- Demonstrated experience & knowledge in Phlebotomy or a Cert III in Pathology is highly advantageous.
