Responsible for performing a broad range of simple to complex pre-analytical procedures consistently and accurately, including all clinical trials. Maintaining current competencies in line with role requirements.
Develop and maintain interdepartmental relationships within the laboratory to promote holistic ethos for excellence in pathology service delivery to our clients.
Key competencies (role specific criteria)
You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:

- Experience in pre-analytical processes, e.g. sorting, coding, data entry, aliquoting, parcel management, troubleshooting etc, in a large and complex specimen reception unit.
- Proven ability to solve problems and show initiative in the workplace.
- Experience dealing with a variety of people and a high level of awareness of the impact the individual has on the overall customer experience.
- High level leadership skills and a demonstrated willingness to succeed and supervise cohesively with all team members.
- Sound understanding of laboratory quality systems and the requirements of NATA accreditation and ISO certification.
- This is a modern laboratory with a positive culture and a high performing team. Excellent interpersonal skills, qualities of resilience, well-developed communication skills, ability to contribute positively to a team environment and to foster an environments where employees achieve success are essential.
- A requirements of this role will be to participate across a 24-hour shift roster from time to time depending on operational needs.
- Demonstrate ability to cooperate and actively participate in a working environment supporting quality human resource management practices including employment equity, anti-discrimination, workplace health and safety and an ethical environment.

Qualifications, registrations and other requirements
- Nil mandatory qualifications are required for this role. The ability to gain the following is desirable Certificate III Pathology (or similar), Certificate IV Laboratory Techniques and successful completion of Train the Trainer.
- The successful applicant may be required to participate in 24 hour shift, on-call or weekend roster arrangements.
- Current Dangerous Goods Certification or the ability to acquire.
