Job Role Overview

The Regional Capability Trainer position is based in Brisbane, Australia. The trainer will provide classroom and workshop training for Heavy Vehicle Technician Apprentices and new Technicians as part of Cummins Asia Pacific.

Responsibilities
  • Coach and develop less experienced technicians and apprentices to undertake troubleshooting, repairs, and rebuilds on Cummins products independently.
  • Deliver Diesel Engine Fundamentals and Basic Diagnostic training to all apprentices in the region.
  • Participate in monthly Capability Trainer meetings and update progress against Heavy Vehicle Mechanical milestone training plan for the apprentices in your branch/region.
  • Provide stakeholder updates and communicate your training program delivery schedule with Supervisors, Workshop Manager, and Service Manager.
  • Maintain a focus on apprentice safety by participating in extended pre-start meetings to ensure understanding of workplace hazards and risk.
  • Participate in the annual Apprentice Onboarding Program.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Advanced knowledge of and experience with Heavy Duty Engine products is essential.
  • Previous experience providing technical advice and coaching to apprentices/technicians is preferred.
  • Possess or be willing to work towards achievement of Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
  • Minimum 4 years post-trade apprenticeship completion is preferred.
  • Candidates must be based in Brisbane and willing to travel across the region as required.
