We are seeking an experienced Vehicle Mechanic to join our Defence Maintenance Contract team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting routine maintenance and repairs on a wide range of heavy military vehicles, including 4WDs, trucks, tracked and armoured vehicles, infantry personnel carriers and even armoured tanks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct technical inspections and classify vehicles
  • Repair or replace worn or faulty parts by removing assemblies such as engines, transmissions and differentials
  • Reassemble, test, clean and adjust repaired or replaced parts
  • Carry out minor body repairs and minor trim repairs
  • Test and repair electrical systems such as lighting, ignition and electronic fuel injection
  • Issue road worthiness certificates
Qualifications
  • Cert III Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or equivalent qualification
  • Open to Light Vehicle Mechanics with demonstrated Heavy vehicle experience
  • Demonstrated experience to inspect, repair and maintain Light, Medium and Heavy vehicles
  • Australian State or Territory class C Driver's License
  • Able to maintain a Defence Security Clearance
