About the Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate First Nations Community Development Worker to join our team at Interrelate. This role will provide an opportunity to work with a diverse and inclusive organization that values cultural knowledge and connection.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with First Nations community members and stakeholders to enhance the wellbeing and safety of First Nations children, families, and communities.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to build culturally informed programs that support and empower First Nations families through life transitions.
  • Provide case management support to First Nations families and individuals, including assistance with accessing Interrelate services.
  • Identify community needs and develop innovative strategies to support First Nations families, including group seminars, community events, and workshops.
  • Facilitate Aboriginal Building Connections training for the community.
Requirements
  • First Nations background and experience in community work with First Nations families and children.
  • Experience in community work, family mediation, or a related field, particularly with First Nations families and children.
  • Certificate IV in Community Development or a related qualification.
  • Experience in case management or a willingness to develop these skills.
  • Understanding of social issues affecting First Nations communities within the local region.
  • Experience in consulting with the First Nations community and relevant stakeholders.
