Job Opportunity: Irrigation Specialist

Casual work exists for a long-term career as an Irrigation Technician in Victoria's horticulture industry.

We encourage motivated and physically fit self-starters to join experienced farm teams, who will be trained in irrigation management.

The role is primarily responsible for ensuring onsite water infrastructure is correctly monitored, repaired and maintained to meet the farm's irrigation requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement seasonal water and fertigation plans.
  • Clean, repair and maintain sprinkler and drip irrigation systems.
  • Check that irrigation has gone as scheduled and troubleshoot any issues.
  • Mix and distribute fertilisers, accurately recording usage.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a similar role preferred.
  • Able to learn about soils and irrigation.
  • Problem-solving skills to identify and resolve irrigation issues with supervision.
  • Literacy and numeracy skills to maintain accurate records.
  • Basic computer skills to assess electronic soil moisture probe data.
