About This Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Field Services Officer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Horticulture and Field Services:
  • Irrigation maintenance, lawn cutting, and development of reserves, ovals, parks, nature strips, shrubs, and pest plant control.
  • Installation and repair of irrigation systems on council reserves, ovals, parks, nature strips, and garden beds.
  • Repair and installation of traffic control signs, street furniture, and playground equipment.
  • Collection and disposal of litter, and street cleaning.
  • Ensuring safe working conditions and practices are observed on all works under supervision, protecting employees and the public.
  • Maintenance and care of plant and equipment under control.
  • Responsible for customer service record management, prioritizing, actioning, updating, and closing assigned tasks within agreed response times.
Arboriculture Services
  • Pruning and planting of street, park, and public trees according to Australia Standards AS 4373: 2007 and best arboriculture practices.
  • Providing information and suggestions to the Team Leader Field Services.
  • Assisting in managing plant and machinery to ensure timely replacement and suitability for tasks.
  • Maintaining and servicing plant to minimize wear and downtime and ensure operator safety.
  • Responsible for customer service record management, prioritizing, actioning, updating, and closing assigned tasks within agreed response times.
Rapid Response/General
  • Assisting in achieving agreed outcomes consistent with department business plans and budgets.
  • Undertaking reactive customer service requests related to Field Services and Arboriculture Services.
  • Adequately managing official records created and received according to relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Removal of illegal waste.
  • Plant and equipment maintenance.
  • Callout duties where applicable.
  • Responsible for customer service record management, prioritizing, actioning, updating, and closing assigned tasks within agreed response times.
  • Performing other duties associated with the position as directed by Team Leader Field Services.
