Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned professional to fill the position of Practice Manager.

This is a 12-month opportunity within a reputable organisation with a possibility of extension. The role will involve ensuring timely delivery of commitments, monitoring and reporting on team performance and outputs, overseeing file allocations and circuit responsibilities, establishing and improving systems and processes to enhance operational effectiveness, providing leadership, motivation and mentorship to staff, building and maintaining strong networks with internal and external stakeholders, consulting and negotiating to achieve positive outcomes, and managing a caseload of complex matters and attending court events as required.

The Organisation plays a vital part in Queensland's justice system, representing the State in prosecuting criminal matters across courts including the High Court of Australia, Supreme Court, District Court and more. Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure timely delivery of commitments.
  • Monitor and report on team performance and outputs.
  • Oversee file allocations and circuit responsibilities.
  • Establish, maintain and improve systems and processes to enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Provide leadership, motivation and mentorship to staff.
  • Build and maintain strong networks with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements
  • Criminal litigation experience with strong advocacy skills in Magistrates and/or higher courts.
  • Able to manage and motivate staff while identifying professional development opportunities.
  • Contributes to organisational initiatives and builds productive partnerships through effective consultation, negotiation and communication.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to liaise with diverse stakeholders and address the needs of victims of crime with care and professionalism.

Mandatory Requirements
  • Admission as a Legal Practitioner in a State or Territory of Australia.
  • Delivery of this application will remain current for 12 months.
