As a Legal Operations Leader at the Queensland Government, you'll oversee daily operations, manage workloads, and coordinate staff leave arrangements.

About Your Opportunity

This is a 12-month opportunity with the possibility of extension.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure timely delivery of commitments, including presenting indictments.
  • Monitor and report on team performance and outputs, resolving issues as they arise.
  • Oversee file allocations and circuit responsibilities, ensuring efficient workflow management.
  • Establish, maintain, and improve systems and processes to enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Provide leadership, motivation, and mentorship to staff, while contributing to targeted training programs for legal and support staff.
  • Build and maintain strong networks with internal and external stakeholders, consulting and negotiating to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Ensure complainants and relatives in cases receive timely and accurate information.
  • Manage a caseload of complex matters and attend court events as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Criminal litigation experience and strong advocacy skills.
  • Ability to manage and motivate staff.
  • Demonstrated accountability and commitment to professional and ethical standards.
  • Possession of excellent interpersonal skills to liaise with diverse stakeholders.
