Job Overview

Manage Complex Litigation Cases

We are seeking a highly skilled Practice Manager to lead our team of legal professionals. As a key member of our organisation, you will be responsible for ensuring timely delivery of commitments and monitoring team performance.

  • Ensure timely delivery of commitments, including the presentation of indictments.
  • Monitor and report on team performance and outputs, resolving issues as they arise.
  • Oversee file allocations and circuit responsibilities, ensuring efficient workflow management.
  • Establish, maintain, and improve systems and processes to enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Provide leadership, motivation, and mentorship to staff, while contributing to the development and delivery of targeted training programs for legal and support staff.
  • Build and maintain strong networks with internal and external stakeholders, consulting and negotiating to achieve positive outcomes.
About Your Role

You will be responsible for managing a caseload of complex matters and attending court events as required. You will also assist in delivering our training obligations to external organisations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drives accountability and outcomes — criminal litigation experience with strong advocacy skills in Magistrates and/or higher courts.
  • Leads strategically — contributes to organisational initiatives and builds productive partnerships through effective consultation, negotiation, and communication.
  • Builds enduring relationships — excellent interpersonal skills to liaise with diverse stakeholders and address the needs of victims of crime with care and professionalism.
  • Fosters a healthy and inclusive workplace — manages team operations effectively, reports on performance data, and contributes to state-wide initiatives and reviews.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Admission as a Legal Practitioner in a State or Territory of Australia.
