Job Title: Administrative Support Officer for Higher Degree Research

Our team seeks a highly skilled and organized administrative support officer to provide comprehensive assistance in the administration of our Higher Degree Research program.

  • Coordinate and administer all aspects of the HDR lifecycle, including admissions, scholarships, graduations, and post-thesis processes.
  • Manage HDR scholarship processes, support scholarship panels, and ensure compliance with relevant policies.
  • Provide governance and secretarial support for Research Degrees Committee, facilitate cross-team collaboration, and drive continuous process improvements.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • Highly developed interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to develop collaborative relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Capacity to exercise initiative and independent judgment, negotiate outcomes, and solve problems.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to work successfully under pressure and balance multiple priorities.
  • Proven capacity to interpret complex policies and procedures, preferably in a Higher Education institution.
  • Sound knowledge of the Australian Higher Education System and understanding of Higher Degree Research student life-cycle functions.
Benefits:

This role offers a competitive base salary range of $95,893 to $103,828 (HEW 6), plus 17% superannuation. UTS staff also benefit from flexible work practices, child care centres, generous parental leave, and salary packaging opportunities.

Other Information:

This is a fixed-term position for 14 months, with the possibility of extension or secondment arrangement for eligible internal applicants.

The successful candidate will have current and valid work rights in Australia.
