**About QIMR Berghofer**:
QIMR Berghofer is a world-leading translational medical research institute focused on improving health by developing new diagnostics, better treatments and prevention strategies, specifically in the areas of Cancer, Infection and Inflammation, Brain and Mental Health, and Population Health. Based in Herston, Brisbane and working in close collaboration with clinicians and other research institutes, QIMR Berghofer is home to more than 600 scientists, students and non-research staff.

**About the Research Grants Team**:
**Role Purpose / Responsibilities**:
This position is an integral role in the grants team and requires a motivated and driven Assistant Grants Officer.

In this role, you will:

- coordinate all aspects of grants administration under supervision, including financial management of cost centres assigned to researchers, budgeting, invoicing according to grant payment schedules, processing journals for expense adjustment, etc.;
- assist with the preparation of financial statements;
- liaise with human resources and finance;
- coordinate submissions of scientific reports; and
- Assist with the coordination of collaborative research agreements.

**About you**:

- Tertiary qualifications in finance or a scientific discipline relevant to health and medical research, or equivalent work experience;
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage conflicting demands and multiple priorities and problem solving skills;
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to interact easily with all levels of staff, including research active staff members; and
- High level of competence with Microsoft Excel, other Microsoft Office software and other computing systems.
- Strong knowledge of grant administration and financial management including budgeting, cost accounting and preparation of management reports and financial statements would be an advantage.

**Remuneration**:Salary range is $88,923 p.a. to $97,924 p.a. plus super and generous salary packaging. This is a full-time, fixed term appointment for 12 months.
