About the Role

The Chief Procurement Officer provides strategic leadership and direction to the Procurement function, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing procurement strategies to achieve cost savings and improve efficiency
  • Leading the procurement team to deliver high-quality services and support business objectives
  • Ensuring compliance with procurement policies and regulations, including VGPB supply policies
  • Providing expert advice to stakeholders on procurement matters and promoting innovative practices
  • Establishing and managing relationships with key stakeholders to drive business outcomes
  • Overseeing the management of commercial, contractual, operational, financial, reputational, ethical, and supply chain risks
  • Preparing annual reports and ensuring the procurement function meets legislative and governance requirements

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of professional industry experience
  • Postgraduate tertiary qualifications highly desirable
  • Membership in a professional accredited organisation, such as CIPS, highly desirable
