The Australian Automotive Dealer Association (AADA) is seeking a highly skilled Government Relations Manager to lead our government and stakeholder engagement strategy. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with government departments, ministerial offices, parliamentarians, and other key industry bodies across state, territory, and federal levels of government.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive government relations strategy to advance the AADA's policy and advocacy priorities.
  • Represent the AADA at industry forums and conferences, and engage with senior levels of government and industry stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with government officials, parliamentarians, and industry leaders to advance the AADA's interests.
  • Collaborate with the AADA team to develop and implement policy and advocacy initiatives that support the association's strategic objectives.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in government policies, regulations, and legislation that impact the automotive industry.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of the Australian system of government and the role of the media.
  • Previous experience in developing and managing long-term stakeholder relationships and partnerships.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with senior levels of government and industry stakeholders.
  • High level of computer literacy, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a small, fast-moving team.
