Role: Enrolled Nurse - Medical Assessment Coordination Unit (MACU)
Enrolled nurses are required to work within the MACU team at John Hunter Hospital. This role offers a supportive and collaborative environment where you can enhance your clinical assessment skills.
This permanent position provides opportunities for full-time or part-time employment, with up to 38 hours per week.
The city of Newcastle offers coastal living with beaches nearby and urban amenities. John Hunter Hospital is part of the Hunter New England Local Health District, located in Newcastle, NSW.
Responsibilities- Coordinate care for acutely unwell medical patients transitioning from Emergency Department toward subspecialties within 48 hours.
- Provide patient-centred care and support a multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Contribute to clinical assessments, recognition, and appropriate response to acutely unwell patients.
- Receive education and supernumerary shifts on commencement with ongoing support from RNs, the Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) and the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM).
- Current Authority to Practice as an Enrolled Nurse with AHPRA.
- Eligibility for future permanent or temporary vacancies; open to Australian Citizens, permanent residents, or certain visa holders as specified.
