About Flourish Support Services:

We are a bespoke disability services provider operating in Sydney and Brisbane, dedicated to assisting our clients in achieving their goals and supporting them to develop increased skills and confidence to live a meaningful and fulfilling life.

The Role:

As a Support Worker, you will provide daily living activities and day-to-day support to individuals with disabilities, assisting with tasks such as housework, personal hygiene, cooking, and accessing community events or services.

  • Accurate record keeping, including submitting progress notes for each shift, and incident reports as appropriate.
  • Providing support in a manner that is consistent and encourages and motivates the Participant to meet their goals and independent skills building, through person-centred practices.
  • Promoting a stimulating, caring and culturally appropriate environment for participants.
  • Providing any required self-care, social and emotional support to the participant as required.
  • Ensuring a professional boundary is maintained throughout the course of all support provided.
  • Maintaining appropriate and effective communication with all stakeholders, including team leaders, peers, and management.

Requirements:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with participants and team members.
  • A passion and enthusiasm for care and support work in the disability sector.
  • An ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.

The successful candidate will also possess:

  • Certificate III Individual Support or equivalent (preferred).
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check.
  • Working with Children Check.
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module (or willing to obtain).
  • Covid Infection Control Certificate (completed previously or willing to obtain).
  • NSW Drivers Licence.
  • Reliable and comprehensively insured vehicle.
  • Current First Aid & CPR Certificates.
