About the CEO Position

The Self Determination Fund is seeking a Chief Executive Officer to build a team and organisation to deliver on its vision and strategic outcomes. This new role and new organisation will require a unique individual who understands how to build from the ground up - establishing leadership capability in investment management, grant policy framework, measuring impact, governance and reporting.

The incoming CEO must demonstrate the capacity to understand and implement the principles of self-determination and empowerment, fairness and equity, responsiveness, innovation, respect, safety, transparency and accountability.

We are seeking a CEO with:

  • Proven experience as a CEO or Senior Executive, with expertise in funds management (preferably a charitable trust).
  • Strength in operationalising strategic plans - requiring strong profit and loss management, governance, commercial acumen and risk management.
  • A proven ability to develop and nurture complex stakeholder management relationships including Elders, Ministers, government, community and partnerships.
