About the Role:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and interview potential donors to assess their eligibility and suitability for donation.
  • Travel across South Australia to provide essential services at Pop-Up Donor Centres in regional communities.
  • Provide expert clinical guidance and oversight to ensure seamless blood collection processes.
  • Conduct routine blood pressure and haemoglobin tests to ensure donor safety.
  • Set up machines and equipment for efficient collections.
  • Insert and remove needles safely to collect whole blood, plasma, and platelets.
  • Manage adverse donor reactions by providing clear instructions and physical assistance.
  • Monitor donors post-donation and assist them in rebooking for their next appointment.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor of Nursing (or equivalent) and current AHPRA registration.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts on a fortnightly rotating roster, including weekends and afternoon shifts.
  • The ability to lift between 9-22.7kgs and frequently stand, walk, and bend to set up and pack down machines and blood products.
