About the Role

The Diagnostic Genomics Laboratory at Monash Health is a dynamic unit providing a range of genetic tests, including karyotyping, microarray, and FISH testing, as well as molecular testing for paediatric and adult cancers, haematological disorders, cancer predisposition, and paediatric disorders of growth.

The successful applicant will be trained in practical aspects of cytogenetics and molecular genetic testing, result interpretation and reporting, clinical liaison, presentation at multidisciplinary meetings, quality assurance program modules, undergraduate teaching, and laboratory management.

About You

To ensure your success in this role, you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience, and knowledge:

  • Meticulous attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and work in a complex environment
  • Well-developed communication and time management skills, with an interest in genetics through education, employment, or research opportunities
  • Previous experience in genetic and molecular pathology is desirable
  • A medical qualification (MBBS or equivalent) with current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APRHA)
  • A current Victorian Working with Children Check Employee (WWCC)
