We seek an experienced Ecology Project Lead to coordinate and manage field-based ecology survey work, including baseline surveys, monitoring programs, and targeted flora and weed assessments across various bioregions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the planning, execution, and analysis of ecology surveys, performing impact assessments and designing mitigation strategies.
- Lead ecological projects, supporting internal clients with multi-disciplinary tenders and deliverables.
- Develop and implement ecology project plans, ensuring high-quality outcomes and compliance with environmental legislation.
- Manage technical performance and delivery of ecological projects, coordinating with cross-functional teams.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in environmental science, ecology, biology, or related field.
- 7-10+ years professional experience in botanical surveys, with a strong focus on ecological consulting, vegetation assessments, or related fieldwork.
- Proven expertise in field skills, conducting surveys in diverse environments, including mining, remote, and Perth Metro areas.
- Excellent technical reporting skills, proficiency in GIS desktop and data collection packages (e.g., ESRI ArcGIS and Fieldmaps).
- WA driving license and ability to work outdoors on short and extended field programs.
- Working knowledge of Commonwealth and State environmental legislation (EPA technical guides, BC Act).
