We are seeking an experienced Ecological Specialist to join our team of industry-leading ecological experts in Canberra or other locations. This role requires providing ecological assessments and advice related to large infrastructure project approvals and natural resource management projects.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver rehabilitation, monitoring, biodiversity surveys, impact and offset assessments, and ecological management plans
  • Conduct environmental analyses, research, and field surveys
  • Write technical environmental reports, proposals, and tenders
  • Plan and manage projects of varying complexity and scale
  • Build relationships with clients while pursuing new business opportunities
  • Work independently with guidance and mentor junior staff

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Previous consulting experience in biodiversity impact assessment and offsetting in NSW/ACT
  • Significant field experience, including BAM and BBAM, ecological monitoring, plant species identification, and data collection and analysis
  • PCTs and vegetation identification training and botany skills
  • BAM Accreditation is highly regarded
  • Experience in GIS, field mapping, and spatial dataset development and management
  • Knowledge of NSW BAM and State/Commonwealth regulatory frameworks and policy
