Ecology Project Specialist

We are seeking a seasoned Ecologist to contribute to our team's reputation for ecological projects across the ACT and NSW.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in field work, assessments, legislative awareness, and solid reporting and project management skills.

This role offers the opportunity to grow our service capacity in ecology and provide specialist advice to balance development, impact avoidance, and offsetting results that achieve the best possible environmental outcome.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience as an Ecologist and possess sound ecological survey, reporting, and assessment skills.

A passion for field work and a drive for delivering high-quality outcomes are essential.

About You

  1. Tertiary qualifications in environmental science, botany, zoology, or a related field
  2. 5+ years relevant experience
  3. Terrestrial flora and/or fauna survey experience, including the capacity to plan surveys and coordinate field teams
  4. Demonstrated experience in managing medium and large-scale projects
  5. Experienced in developing and maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders
  6. Demonstrated experience in collecting and interpreting ecological and spatial data
  7. Strong verbal and written communication skills
  8. Highly motivated with a strong team commitment
  9. Willingness to work flexible hours and travel for work
  10. Prior experience with the Biodiversity Assessment Method (BAM) is highly regarded
