About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Park Hyatt Melbourne. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional food and beverage experiences for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of menus and culinary programs that meet the high standards of Park Hyatt Melbourne.
  • Supervise and manage the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, ensuring that all dishes are prepared consistently and according to standard.
  • Lead and motivate a team of culinary employees, providing guidance and training to ensure that they are equipped to deliver exceptional service.
  • Monitor and control kitchen operating costs, taking corrective action when necessary to reduce expenses.
  • Collaborate with the Chef de Cuisine/Executive Chef to achieve our culinary goals and objectives.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a high-end hotel or restaurant environment.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent culinary skills, with a focus on creativity, innovation, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, with a strong focus on delivering exceptional results.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
