Insurance Reserving Specialist

We are seeking a skilled professional to support our insurance business and deliver on strategic initiatives as part of the actuarial team. This role involves quantifying risk, pricing insurance, and reserving losses for major operating companies.
Key Responsibilities:- Coordinate quarterly management reporting requirements with regional teams
- Support strategic portfolio reviews and deep-dive analyses of business segments
- Prepare local regulatory reporting for Australia and New Zealand offices, including quarterly Board and Risk Committee reporting, valuation, solvency calculations, and IFRS 17 disclosures
- Review capital projections and investment strategies, including Asset Liability Matching (ALM)
- Provide support to budget loss ratio exercises and annual financial planning
- Assist in other ad-hoc analyses as required
- Minimum 3 years of General Insurance experience, preferably in reserving long-tail lines
- Proficiency in actuarial concepts and methodologies; ability to educate non-technical managers on technical areas
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective project and time management, communication skills, and ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
- Working knowledge of typical actuarial reserving software and professional integrity with a high level of ethics
