Actuarial Consultant Role

About the Position:

We are seeking a highly skilled Actuarial Consultant to provide actuarial advice and support to our business functions, including profit centers, underwriting, finance, and risk management.

Key Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Coordinating quarterly financial reporting requirements with regional teams
  • Assisting in supporting strategic portfolio reviews and deep dive analyses of certain business segments
  • Preparing regulatory reports for local offices, including quarterly valuation, solvency calculations, and IFRS 17 disclosures, as well as annual Insurance Liability Valuation Report and Financial Condition/Stress Testing Report
  • Reviewing capital projections and investment strategies, including ALM (Asset Liability Matching)
  • Providing support to the budget loss ratio exercise and annual financial planning
  • Assisting in other ad-hoc analyses as required

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of General Insurance experience, preferably reserving in long tail lines
  • Proficiency in actuarial concepts/methodologies and ability to educate non-technical managers on technical areas that enhance their decision-making ability
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective project & time management and strong communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as take responsibility for individual contribution
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize own work
  • Ability to forge relationships with other areas of the business
  • Working knowledge of typical actuarial reserving software
  • Professional behavior with high level of integrity
