
Vessel Operations Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Engineer to fill the position of Chief Engineer Officer on a full-time basis in Tasmania. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of mechanical and electrical systems on board vessels.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maritime engineering, with experience in managing complex technical systems and teams. They will also possess excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safe operation of mechanical and electrical systems on board vessels, including regular maintenance and repairs.
- Manage and coordinate the activities of junior engineers and technicians, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
- Maintain accurate records and reports, including logs, manuals, and drawings.
- Perform other duties as required by the company.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Engine officer qualifications aligned with industry standards.
- Minimum 6 months experience from fish service vessels in a senior officer position.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
