Electrical Power Systems Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled electrical power systems expert to join our team in Sydney. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical power engineering and at least 4-6 years of relevant professional experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute and manage studies for analysis of electrical power systems, network planning and grid development.
  • Carry out and lead technical studies related to grid connection of our products, systems, and solutions.
  • Support business units in business development activities by presenting the capabilities of our products and solutions to existing and prospective clients.
  • Coordinate and align engineers from different technical groups and virtual teams within a multi-cultural environment.
  • Strengthen and grow contacts to our customers worldwide and manage customer relationships.
  • Actively involved in pre-acquisition and sales activities to grow our business.
  • Integrate power electronic devices, renewable generation, storage devices, etc. into AC grids (conceptual studies, feasibility studies, tender studies, project execution).
  • Coordinate external partners and sub suppliers.
  • Develop capability in one or more other specialized technical areas, such as earthing, protection, power quality, electromagnetic transients.

Requirements:

  • University degree in electrical power engineering (master or PhD degree preferred).
  • Solid experience in steady state and dynamic network planning, network structure development, planning of C&P systems for electrical power systems and power electronics.
  • Solid knowledge of typical power system simulation programs (e.g. PSS/E, PowerFactory, PSCAD/EMTDC, Matlab/Simulink).
  • Good communication skills in business - fluent in English.
  • Well-versed in AEMO and TNSP guidelines.
  • Good presentation skills to represent Siemens Energy Grid Consulting to customers, working groups and in conferences.
  • Initiative, creativity, analytic and strategic thinking, teamwork, customer orientation and intercultural teams characterize your work approach.
